Come and create a city with us!

Join The Glass-House Community Led Design on Saturday 24th June at Bow Church in East London and take part in a hands-on, creative session to co-design and make a model city out of recycled materials.

This event is part of the London Festival of Architecture 2023 programme.

We are welcoming families with children, young people and anyone interested in how we design and build cities to join us.

What do you want to see in our city? Design and build models of homes, skyscrapers, green spaces, playgrounds and anything else you want to see (and can imagine!) in our shared city.

Co-design Sessions

Our free co-design activity will run in three separate sessions:

Please choose one session to attend  when booking your tickets. Participants are invited to join us at the start of their session for a short introduction to the creative task, but are free to stay as long as they like within the session time.

Our team will be on hand throughout each session to help you develop your ideas and build your models, and to add your creations to the  collaborative city model.

Please note, children and young people under 16 will need to attend this event with a parent or guardian over 18 and cannot be left unattended during the session.

Bring Your Own Recycled Materials

We’ll be using recycled materials alongside a range of arts and crafts materials, and we invite you to bring your own recycled cardboard boxes and plastic containers to help create our collaborative city. This can include cardboard boxes, empty milk or shampoo bottles (please make sure they are clean!) or leftover craft materials.

Exploring the Heritage of Bow Church

For those who would like to learn more about the Bow Church building, we will also have heritage champions from Bow Church on hand who can tell you about the building’s history and show you around once you have finished your model.
