About this event

ExploreStation invites you to join Round 2 of our national conversation about the future of railway station design in the UK.

ExploreStation is a programme of online and face-to-face activities being organised by Design Council,  The Glass-House Community Led Design, Digital Urban and Commonplace, to help engage the public in shaping the final stages of a new station design standard being developed by 7N Architects for Network Rail. This design responds to Round 1 of the engagement, for which we received over 2,000 contributions and comments from over 6,000 visitors to our in-person and online events and platform.

This workshop will take place in online on 26 May, 18:00 – 20:00 through the video conferencing platform Zoom.

Design workshop: 18:00 – 20:00

This workshops will be a space to work with The Glass-House and other participants to explore station design through a series of hands-on and creative design activities. We will look at the emerging modular station design from 7N, and consider how it will shape people’s experience of stations in the future.

Whilst everyone is welcome, this workshop will focus on how the HUB station accommodates those who identify as neurodiverse and/or physically or mentally disabled.

Please let us know of any accessibility requirements you may have when booking your ticket to ensure we cater to your needs during this online session. The session will be hosted through the video conferencing platform Zoom, and will utilise the online whiteboarding tool Miro. The Glass-House will provide guidance on using these tools before the workshop.
