EVENT ORGANISED BY: The Empowering Design Practices project
(workshop designed by The Glass-House and Tot Foster)

ABOUT THE EVENTHave you thought about making your own film or commissioning a film to benefit your place and enhance your design process?

In this workshop we’ll explore how groups working to improve a historic place of worship for wider community use can use film as a tool for engaging people, mobilising support and communicating the value and impact of your community, faith and heritage spaces.

Led by filmmaker and media producer Tot Foster and the Empowering Design Practices team, you’ll get the chance to:

– Explore what makes a great story
– Learn how to develop the concept for a film
– Get practical advice and top tips to build your confidence as a creator or commissioner of film
– Get hands-on experience of filmmaking using your smartphone

Participants will also have the opportunity to benefit from a one-to-one Skype/phone session with Tot Foster a week after the workshop has taken place, in order to help you explore specific ideas you may have in mind about a potential film to support your project.
