With 17 years’ experience of supporting people, projects and places, we want to explore how we can continue to make a difference through our support and outreach. As well as looking towards the future, we are embarking on a period of revisiting past projects and bringing together our approaches and tools, with the long-term goal of making them publicly accessible to inspire a bigger audience to put people at the heart of places.

To do that, we’re looking for two new staff to join our small, creative team. Both roles are offered part-time (21 hours a week), on fixed term 14-month contracts, with potential to extend.

Design Enabling and Research Manager
We’re looking for an experienced design enabler and researcher to support our innovative, evidence-based approach to connecting people, projects and places. You will help us to develop and deliver internal and collaborative research projects – in particular the Empowering Design Practices project – with input of design, engagement and visioning expertise. You will have the experience and skills to deliver strategic and practical support to community groups and professionals, to help build capacity in effective and inclusive design processes. This role will also involve leading the research and organisation of The Glass-House archive in collaboration with colleagues, revisiting past projects and producing accessible and engaging resources to help share our learning and build capacity within communities, practice and academia.

Outreach and Events Manager
We’re looking for an experienced communications and events professional with the ability and confidence to communicate effectively and inclusively with communities, organisations and networks. The post-holder will lead on a strategy to connect with our audiences through creative, engaging and accessible communications and events to promote the position of The Glass-House as a thought leader and innovator. You will contribute to the development and delivery of our internal and collaborative action research projects, including our live Empowering Design Practices project, and work with the team to build The Glass-House archive, carrying out research, developing stories and sharing updates with our audiences.
