ExploreStation is an initiative commissioned by Network Rail, and led by Design Council, exploring the future of railway stations across Britain. The aim is to create better travel experiences and new community hubs for the benefit of passengers and local people alike.

The initiative also features a programme of online and face-to-face activities being organised by Design Council, The Glass-House Community Led Design, Digital Urban and Commonplace, to help engage the public in shaping the final stages of a new station design standard being developed by 7N Architects for Network Rail. This design responds to ThinkStation, a previous engagement programme created to inform a brief for a new approach to station design for small to medium-sized rail stations across the country.

Our ExploreStation Guide was produced as part of the second round of engagement and explores the design journey and proposed design framework. It is available to read below, please feel free to download to zoom in on the smaller text.
