Laying the Foundations: Using the Built Environment to teach was produced by the then Department for Culture, Media and Sport. The publication aims to introduce teachers and other educators to the many ways that buildings and places can support learning. It shows how the built environment can be used to enrich the curriculum and make connections between the school and the wider community.

The case studies for this publication were researched and written by Louisa Neuburger for The Glass-House Community Led Design.
